A woman has sued Major League Baseball's St. Louis Cardinals for negligence over a very unfortunate text message that was allegedly posted to the Busch Stadium scoreboard.
From Associated Press:
ST. LOUIS (AP) - An Illinois woman is suing the St. Louis Cardinals, accusing the club of negligence for allowing a derogatory text message about her daughter to be posted on the ballpark's message board during a game.
Neither the mother nor the daughter are identified in the suit filed yesterday.
It alleges that during a class trip to Busch Stadium last May, someone from the daughter's group texted the venue's message board, wrongly saying the 17-year-old girl had a sexually transmitted disease.
The lawsuit says the girl, because of her embarrassment, stayed out of school the rest of the year and took her final exams in a separate office to avoid ridicule.
