On Saturday, at the close of our Manitoulin Island holiday, we visited the 2009 M'Chigeeng First Nation Pow-Wow
I couldn't resist the chance to take a bit of Blackberry video, and here it is - a colourful sampling of First Nations dance, song and drumming, along with an inspiring conversation with M'Chigeeng artist, author and Shaman, Ken Ense:
In addition to dance and song, a pow-pow also showcases quite a bit of humour.
The best line of the day came from the event MC: "I do all my hunting at I.G.A."
Another favourite was the Crooked TeePee, a food stand featuring a promotional sign that read "Eat here or we will both go hungry!"
All in all a great day.
Now back to work we go....
