US Attorney General Alberto Gonzales leaves office today. His replacement has not yet been named by President Bush.
President Bush's apparent, preferred choice as Attorney General, Theodore Olson, continues to encounter strong opposition from Democrats.
Yahoo News has Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid's position from Wednesday:
Ted Olson will not be confirmed by the Senate,'' Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid told reporters today in Washington. ``I intend to do everything I can to prevent him from being confirmed.
