September 11

September 11, among other things, happens to be the writer's birthday.

I still have unsettling memories of watching the events unfold on CNN that morning, as I was receiving "happy birthday" calls on the phone, and likely, always will.

A birthday wish I received electronically today nonetheless made me laugh:

"Kind of a creepy day to have a birthday but I'm sure you had nothing to do with that. Have a happy one."

Thanks, Irv. I'm glad to be off your 9-11 conspiracy list.
