Bride Sues: Wedding Flowers Were "Wrong"

CNN reports on the unfortunate case of a bride who is seeing red after her florist allegedly delivered the wrong colour of flowers to her wedding:

Posy Floral Design in Manhattan substituted pastel pink and green hydrangeas for the dark rust and green ones she had specified for 22 centerpieces.

This reminded me of a case I handled early in my career, in which we "vigorously pursued" a d.j. who played the wrong song as our client walked down the aisle.

Weddings are serious business, with very little margin for error.

Sounds to me like a nasty New York City lawyer with too much time on her hands trying to get a free wedding. Get off it.

Let's make a bet on how long that marriage lasts!

At some point you have to wonder why you're spending more than 27,000 on flowers. Perhaps they should be more concerned about their marriage. Put the money toward something that really matters.

I was a "wedding guru" for over 10 years and dealt with 40+ brides every year. Who was her wedding consultant (I expect she had one as she HAD spent more than $27,000 in flowers). If she can't deal with this in her life, what will happen if she has a disabled child, if she comes down with a serious illness, if her husband develops a mental illness or leaves her (I can see that happening with someone this obsessive). I agree that weddings are serious business.....but so is the business of life. No one ever promised her a rose garden.....and nature can't promise the "perfect rust hydrangea". Good luck to her husband....he'll need it!

OMG what is this one thinking? first of all 27 grand on flowers HELLO. How do you justify sueing for 400,000.00 dollars. See this is what is wrong with this world and the judicial system allowing this moron to actually file a suit like this. I think this couple needs to get a reality check. This is insane. We got kids starving in this world and these spoiled NY brats are whining over flowers that they spent a rediculous amount of money on. Man give us all a break already.

I can not believe how entitled Americans think they are. We are the most greedy and spoiled country in the World. This is disgusting. Someone needs to slap some sense into this woman. $400,000 because her flowers were the wrong color? What next? Will she sue her ob/gyn when her child is not born with blue eyes and blonde hair? I can't believe that she is tying up our justice system with this piddly crap. Lucky for her that American troops are being maimed and killed for her freedom, so that she can have the right to sue a d@mn florist because her flowers weren't to her specifications. Give me a break. This lady needs to pull her head out of her @$$ and realize that the color of her flowers on her wedding day (that she spent $27,000 on?!? Don't even get me started on that...) are not going to impact the rest of her life. Get over it. Move on. Get a life.

I had Hydrangaes for my wedding, and my florist specifically told me when ordering that the color in the pictures may not be matched, as it doesn't happen naturally. I chose to go with a different color, knowing I wanted a specific look. The color I wanted was red.
This person needs to not worry so much about the wedding, but the marriage, as thats what lasts for life. The wedding was only a day. If it was ruined by the color of flowers, maybe they shouldn't have gotten married.

You people are honestly absolutely ridiculous on here. Too much time on her hands and she should have put the money towards their marriage??? Ok, yeah $30,000 is a little much, but the girl obviously has the money to spend if she spent that much on her flowers and she expected them to be right. Anyway, who cares how much she spent. That is nobody else's business. It is people like that who give businesses very good business and to have someone screw that up is ridiculous. I think $400,000 lawsuit is wrong, but she should definitely get her money back for that one. I just got married a few weeks ago and my florist screwed up a couple of things. You bet I will be getting some of my money back. I didn't pay no $30,000 but I spent a good bit and having my flowers perfect was very important to me. You spend all of time planning and spending money to have a perfect day for you and your new husband, your damn right it should be almost perfect. Things happen but come on now. That is a ridiculous mistake.

Yes, the amount of money this bride is asking for is ridiculous. But what is even more ridiculous is the bottom of the barrel customer service Americans have lowered themselves too. Mistakes happen but come on that is pretty big. Where is the accountability? She paid for a service that she didn't get - plain and simple and she deserves at the very least a full refund.
