Finally I get it.
These are The Rules of the Democratic nomination battle, as adopted by supporters of the Barack Obama campaign:
Rule 1:
Every word Barack Obama (or any one of his supporters) shall utter shall be deemed to be historic, monumental and as pronouncing a self-evident, higher truth never before heard.
Rule 2:
Every word uttered by Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton (or any other supporter of the Clinton campaign) shall be deemed to be controversial, divisive and solely driven by a shameless desire for political gain, at any cost.
Simple.
Now, at last, I understand.

I think thats pretty spot-on, to be honest.
Barack makes a historic speech on race relations - lauded by most on all sides of the political and media divide, while Bill is reduced to saying that he wants Hillary as the candidate so there will be 2 people facing off against each other who love America - implying that Obama doesn't love his country.
I think the contrast between those 2 statements encapsulates it perfectly... and I'm seeing another bitter Clinton supporter here. ;)

The Clinton's and their supporters are getting increasingly bitter - witness James Carville comparing Bill Richardson's endorsement of Obama to Judas Iscariot. The sooner Clinton throws in the towel (or is forced to throw it in by the Supers declaring for Obama) the better it will be for the Dems in the fall and for the Democratic Party in general to shake off the old guard of the Democratic Party.
