Simran Bakshi on Workplace and Employment Law: SCC Clarifies the Law on Bonus Entitlements during the Notice Period

The Supreme Court of Canada in Matthews v Ocean Nutrition Canada Ltd., 2020 SCC 26 was clear that an employee who would have received a bonus during the notice period, but for her termination, is entitled to such compensation, unless the wording of the bonus plan unambiguously alters or removes this right.
