No Surprise to Marketing Professionals Here

That didn't take long for her to figure out: Christine O’Donnell regrets ‘I’m not a witch’ ad:
Speaking to ABC's "Good Morning America" in an interview broadcast Thursday, O'Donnell agreed with the suggestion that the ad only brought fresh attention to the issue surrounding her past statements as a TV commentator.

"I haven't publicly stated this, and I don't know if I'll get in trouble for saying that, but our intention was to kill it, and that's not what happened," she said in the interview.

The 'I'm Not A Witch' Auto-Tune Remix

This is probably more interesting as a demonstration of the marvels of Auto-Tune than as a stand-alone musical work or political statement, but have a look:

Breaking News: U.S. First Amendment Guarantees Separation of Church, State; Has Done So for 200+ Years

A lot of fun (and justifiable fun) has been made of Christine O'Donnell, the Republican candidate for Senator in Delaware. However, her always entertaining and almost certainly hopeless campaign has hit - depending on your perspective - either a new low or a new peak, thanks to her most recent debate against Democrat Chris Coons:
"Where in the Constitution is the separation of church and state?" O'Donnell asked him.

When Coons responded that the First Amendment bars Congress from making laws respecting the establishment of religion, O'Donnell asked: "You're telling me that's in the First Amendment?"

Her comments, in a debate aired on radio station WDEL, generated a buzz in the audience.

"You actually audibly heard the crowd gasp," Widener University political scientist Wesley Leckrone said after the debate, adding that it raised questions about O'Donnell's grasp of the Constitution.
Those interested can view Youtube of the debate here. Ms. O'Donnell makes the initial comment at about 2:37; the audience can be heard saying "wait, what?" at about 2:38.

Quoteworthy: On Sharron Angle

Nicole Belle at C & L, on Sharron Angle, the Republican candidate for Senator of Nevada, who claims that Sharia law has "taken hold" in certain parts of America:
..........

And while we're on the topic of truth is stranger than fiction, how about this, fresh in from our chip off the old block/acorns that don't fall far from the tree department?

Did you know that the father of Christine O'Donnell, Delaware's dabbling Republican senatorial candidate, was one of the actors who played Bozo the Clown, in that children's television classic from a kinder, gentler era gone by?

Update - October 5, 2010

He was a Bozo, all right, but only a part-time understudy Bozo, it turns out.

(Or as Olbermann put it, "he wasn't Bozo, he was Faux-Zo")

A Witch Goes to a Tea Party...

Quote of the day (via Powerline):
It's great to hear that [Delaware Republican senatorial candidate Christine] O'Donnell learned from her experiences dabbling in witchcraft. You wouldn't want a U.S. Senator who dabbled in witchcraft and learned nothing from it.
The 'dabbling in witchcraft' video is here. More on Ms. O'Donnell here and here.

And for the particularly dubious, perhaps this stern reminder is in order: Never underestimate the power of a woman with a broom!
