Sexism

Josh Marshall, a leading progressive blogger who generally gets it right, really gaffes on this one:

It's always good to seek out the larger lesson behind a political scandal. So in this case, it seems to be, If you're a Republican and you want to misbehave sexually, make sure it's with a chick.

I'm not sure how Maine's Republican Senators Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins would take to that advice. Or Senators Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-Texas), Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) and Elizabeth Dole (R-North Carolina).

Or the 23 Republican women serving in the House of Representatives.

And I'm even less sure about Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice...
