According to Bob Aaron, a Toronto real estate lawyer and journalist, a landowner in Ontario can be required to perform more than 365 days labour on local roads in any given year.
In an interesting article that appeared in the Toronto Star on December 8th 2007, Bob has written about an outdated law, the Statute Labour Act, according to which some Ontario taxpayers must perform road work, if the township they live in has not passed a by-law abolishing the statute.
