v Botuik, 2020 HRTO 345, the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal revisited the
concept of consent within the context of a workplace “relationship”. The
Tribunal declared that “manufactured consent which is secured by ignoring
and overriding objections is not consent at all under the law…consent under the
law does not extend to situations where a party complies because they fear the
consequences of refusing”.
