The Case That Perry Mason Lost

Judge Sonia Sotomayor may have been stumped by Senator Al Franken's question about the one case that Perry Mason "lost," but with the help of Google, we at Wise Law Blog are not.

Here, then, is the verdict from The Case of the Deadly Verdict (10/17/1963):



Mr. Mason would have the last laugh, however, having suffered this humiliating defeat at the hands of Hamilton Berger only because his client withheld evidence that proved her own innocence.

By the end of the episode, Perry Mason had worked his magic, and she was a free woman again.

Ralph Kramden Sues the Bus Company

Ralph Kramden has an accident while driving his bus, due to malfunctioning windshield wipers. He decides to sue the bus company for negligence.

"It's the opportunity of a lifetime," he tells a skeptical Alice.

He's counting on damages of $10,000.00. With that kind of loot, "even after paying the lawyers," he says, "we'll be millionaires..."

Gilligan's Mary Ann... Busted!

Last year, it was those scandalous stories about Marcia and Jan.

Now, CNN reports that Mary Ann has been busted.

Where will it end?

If only James Curran knew...

(By the way, is it impolite to note that "Mary Ann" is now 69 years old?)
